Acting

Involved in the acting community for much of her life Vanessa graduated from Toi Whakaari/NZ drama school in 1997.

Having also worked with students at Toi Whakaari NZ Drama School in a ‘moderating’ & teaching role, one of her strengths is fostering talent. She is also passionate about encouraging resilience and a sense of individual voice in the acting industry. Vanessa is a champion of diversity in terms of gender, neurodiversity & in support of marginalized voices.
She has also written and directed theatre.

Vanessa is Pākehā and of Ngāi Tahu descent on her mother's side.
